Astor Case Makes Headlines

As stated in the New York Times, "The son of Brooke Astor, the legendary New York society matriarch, was convicted on Thursday of stealing from her as she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease in the twilight of her life."

Although the charge of elder abuse was dropped from this highly visible case, citizens can still take this opportunity to highlight the issue of elder abuse.  For example, consider writing a letter to the editor to raise awareness about the pervasive threat of elder abuse.
