EAGLE (Elder Abuse Guide for Law Enforcement) online tool designed to support officers in quickly identifying, intervening, and resolving elder abuse situations.

The Center of Excellence on Elder Abuse and Neglect at the UC Irvine School of Medicine's Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology is committed to eliminating the abuse and mistreatment of our community's elders. Since its inception, the center has endeavored to help eliminate abuse and mistreatment through a variety of mechanisms at local, state and national levels.

We are grateful to have been funded through a variety of sources including various foundations, the federal government, Cy Pres settlements and private donations.

Locally, the center works with a team of local agencies providing medical services to abused, neglected and exploited seniors living in the community or in long-term care facilities. The center serves as a "living laboratory" of innovative approaches to preventing elder abuse.

Nationwide, the center serves as a resource for professional technical assistance (e.g., expert witness, starting an elder abuse forensic center), professional training and research. The center has also served in the past, through funding from the U.S. Administration on Aging, as the National Center on Elder Abuse.

Our goal is to support the elimination of abuse, neglect, mistreatment and exploitation of seniors on every level.
